Dr. I-Hsien Ting is a Professor in the Department of Information Management at National University of Kaohsiung (NUK), Taiwan, and Director of the university's Social Networks Innovation Center. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of York, UK, where he was a member of the Artificial Intelligence Research Group.
Dr. Ting is a recognized scholar in social network analysis and social media mining, with deep expertise spanning artificial intelligence, opinion mining, web data mining, and privacy-preserving techniques for social graph data. In recent years his work has extended into digital transformation and applied AI—helping organizations harness social media analytics, data-driven decision-making, and intelligent automation to navigate an increasingly connected and competitive environment. He also lectures and consults on the emerging intersection of AI and digital finance, including topics such as stablecoins, real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, and digital assets as part of broader strategic transformation.
A prominent voice in his field, Dr. Ting serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Social Network Mining and President of the Taiwanese Association for Social Networks. He is a long-standing organizer of the Multidisciplinary International Social Networks Conference (MISNC) and a three-time Best Paper Award recipient (2011, 2015, 2022). His international footprint includes Visiting Professor appointments in Cambodia, Malaysia, and Thailand, as well as leadership roles as Dean of International Affairs and Director of NUK's International College and international MBA programs. Beyond academia, he contributes industry perspective through board directorship and senior technical consulting roles in the technology sector.
